José Santaemilia has been one of the driving forces behind research on sexuality and translation. In addition to his own publications, he has edited influential volumes and promoted international collaborations through the Universitat de València, helping to consolidate this area of translation studies. His introductory chapters are, in my view, the best place to begin exploring the field. The second chapter is a more recent overview that Antonio Martínez Pleguezuelos and I wrote to reflect how the field has evolved in recent years.
